Wear it. Plated white gold actually holds up better with regular wear than sitting in a box for long stretches.
That said, take pieces off before sleeping and showering. Sweat, soap, and friction against bedsheets are what dull plated finishes fastest.
Store each piece separately to prevent scratching — the cloth pouch your order shipped in is purpose-built for this. Keep it dry, out of direct sunlight, and away from heat.
Avoid stacking plated pieces against each other. Friction is the fastest way to wear a finish.
Use the soft cloth from your order — a dry, gentle buff is all the plating needs. Polish in straight lines along the form, not in circles, and avoid passing the cloth over claw-set stones.
Never use silver polish, abrasives, or jewelry-cleaner liquids on plated pieces. They strip the finish.
Take pieces off before swimming, showering, or working with cleaning products. Chlorine, bleach, salt water, and perfume are the four most aggressive offenders for any plated finish.
If a piece does get caught — rinse with clean water, dry thoroughly with a soft cloth, and store dry.
Plated white gold dulls slowly with daily wear — that's normal. A soft dry buff usually brings shine back.
